Dr. Joshua Gordon Appointed IACC Chair
Joshua Gordon, MD, PhD, the new director of the National Institute of Mental Health, has been appointed chairperson of the Interagency Autism Coordinating Committee (IACC). The committee works to improve coordination and communication between federal agencies, along with the autism community. Its goal is to improve autism research and services. Dr. Gordon previously was a faculty member at Columbia University’s Department of Psychiatry. He has expertise in the study of patterns of electrical activity in the brain that affect behavior. He has researched the neural circuitry underlying conditions such as anxiety, and depression.
