IAN Joins Partnership with Developmental Disabilities Center
The Interactive Autism Network at Kennedy Krieger Institute is one of two new partners of the Maryland Center for Developmental Disabilities (MCDD), as part of an effort to improve disability data access and quality.
IAN has spent the last decade developing the world’s largest online community of autism researchers and participants. With tens of thousands of participants, and hundreds of researchers and research projects, IAN is the largest patient- and family-centered national autism data set in existence.
"We’re proud that IAN is advancing new knowledge about autism and connecting families who live with autism," said IAN Director Paul H. Lipkin, MD. "Our hope is that through this partnership with MCDD we can leverage our knowledge and expertise to begin looking at other developmental disabilities in addition to autism."
The other new partner to MCDD is The Hilltop Institute at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, a health research organization with expertise in Medicaid.
