Autism Speaks and Guardian Angels Join Efforts on Autism Wandering

Date Published:
December 9, 2013

Autism Speaks and the Guardian Angels have formed a partnership to address wandering, and to help find missing people, in the autism community. In annoucing the partnership, Autism Speaks cited a recent study by the Interactive Autism Network that found that almost half of people with autism spectrum disorder have wandered away, which can endanger their safety. The partnership will involve Guardian Angels chapters in 32 states. The groups will distribute information on how to identify someone with autism who may be lost and what steps to take.
