Webinar on the ABLE Act
SPARK for Autism will host a free webinar about the The ABLE Act Wednesday, September 27, from 12 to 1 p.m. EDT. The ABLE Act allows families and individuals with disabilities to save for disability-related expenses without jeopardizing an individual's eligibility for public assistance programs, such as Medicaid and Supplemental Security Income (SSI). The webinar presentation will be made by Stuart Spielman, senior policy advisor and counsel for Autism Speaks.
The Achieving a Better Life Experience (ABLE) Act was passed by Congress and signed into law by President Obama in 2014. Some states have launched ABLE programs and may offer tax advantages for their residents. For more information on ABLE Accounts, see What are ABLE Accounts? at the ABLE National Resource Center website.
